About this site
This site was redesigned with Cascading Style Sheets in November, 2005. At first, I used the Any Order Columns technique invented by Alex Robinson, with a slight modification as suggested by Eric Meyer. Later (February, 2006), I changed to The Holy Grail of Layouts described by Matthew Levine. This I find even more elegant and it also solved a problem I had with the right column not showing properly.
The Mini Tabs used for the site navigation are due to Dan Cederholm. The CSS forms (used for logging in to the course pages) were modified from the article Practical CSS Layout Tips, Tricks, & Techniques by Matthew Levine.
Here is a link to my style sheet and this example page shows the overall structure of the layout.
The Lightbox technique for enlarging images (without the use of popup windows) is based on JavaScript and CSS by Lokesh Dhakar as modified by Takuya Otani. You can see examples in my picture gallery. Many other useful Javascripts can be found at javascript.internet.com.
To see CSS in action: hover the links with the mouse, change the width of the browser window or the text size.
